Expérimentations photographiques en Europe des années 20 à nos jours
Photographic Experiments in Europe from the 1920s to the Present
1 - 30 November 2008Photographic Experiments in Europe from the 1920s to the Present
The photography collection at the Pompidou Centre is particularly strong on experimental work. For the 2008 edition of the Paris Month of Photography, the Pompidou Centre has decided to showcase this key aspect of its collection via a thematic exhibition presented alongside its permanent exhibits. The four themes - the body as a field of experimentation, the point of view adopted by artists who take an oblique, off-beat approach to the world at large, the photosensitive surface, and the principle of montage - make it possible to outline a concise history of experimental photography in Europe over a period of almost a century.
