Vasco Araújo investigates human codes and systems in artificial ans spectacular staged pieces (videos, photos or objects) subly and outrageously playing out the games of love and chance. Eco, the new video presented at the Jeu de Paume, takes as its starting point the idea of heterogeneity and the psychological relationships we have with ourselves such as "me and the Other", "me and my father", "me and my mother". Six characters talk to each other, but there is a single voiceover. The text, based on Dialogues With Leuco by Cesare Pavese, poses existential questions such as "What are we doing here?" and "What determines our destiny?"
