Frédéric Delangle's photographs deal with the city and its fringes and engage in an examination of urban change in the context of the relationship between Europe and the rest of the world. Using selected pictures taken over a period of fifteen years in Europe, Asia and Africa, Frédéric Delangle creates diptychs on single photographic prints, effacing the time and distance that separate the pairs of images. From these improbable encounters emerges a third territory, a mental space interweaving the social and cultural memories of two different countries.
