Philippe Lopparelli, Le temps nous est conté
Gabriela Lupu, Bucarest, figures de style
3 - 21 November 2008Gabriela Lupu, Bucarest, figures de style
For over twenty years Philippe Lopparelli's photographic work has focused on places where time is not in synch with the rest of the world. When he first went to Romania he felt an instant attraction to the fabulous landscapes of the Carpathian mountains. He was fascinated by the luminous simplicity of the people who live there and their way of life. His work delivers the emotion of this rural world intact, complete with its own time and its own pace. Human beings are the focus of Gabriela Lupu's work: humans who change, who dramatize, who have the power to fascinate us. Humans who are capable of anything and everything. She photographs people going about their daily business in their familiar surroundings. Life is a stage and people are actors.
