Agnès Pataux, Une épopée irlandaise : de mer, de pierres et d'hommes
An Epic Irish Journey: Sea, Stones and Men
19 November 2008 - 20 February 2009An Epic Irish Journey: Sea, Stones and Men
The Irish journey undertaken by Agnès Pataux is not a recent one, but it still resonates today Her engagement with the Celtic world is underpinned by a sense of the ineluctable bond beween Man and Nature. Drystone walls, emblematic features of the Irish landscape, are both testimonies to the past and astonishingly modern pieces of architecture. Her work is ultimately akin to that of an archaeologist or an anthropologist in that it bears witness to a particular civilization via a personal vision of its landscapes and its inhabitants.
