Tranquil Days in Cayeux

4 - 29 November 2008

Cayeux-sur-Mer is a little town in the Baie de Somme. It is a hotchpotch of a place, combining a fishing village, a country town and a beach resort. Pascale Jausserand discovered Cayeux in 2000 and has regularly spent time there. She began to photograph the town, with the sea providing a counterpoint to its lambent skies, and gradually became interested in the houses whose diversity attracted her and with whose inhabitants she became acquainted. Photography makes visible the timeless poetic bond that links people with places. It simultaneously renders the imprint of the past, the impact of the present, and another future.
