Vinter plunges us into a frenetic set of images that are a radical break with the stereotypes of immaculate snowscapes, cosy, neat interiors, and people we imagine to be fully used to the annual exercise of the long dark winter, waiting passively and quietly for it to end. Instead Tunbjörk's journey is a chaotic one, alternating interiors and exteriors and affording no opportunity to stop and look at reassuringly beautiful images The acuity of Tunbjörk's vision proceeds from his awareness of the world. It is tinged with a form of humour that can only come from a deep love for what we are and what we become. Things weren't necessarily "better before"; the world has probably always been spinning out of control.
