Harry Gruyaert, TV Shots
3 - 30 November 2008In 1972 Harry Gruyaert made a series of images entitled TV Shots. They were photos of TV screens taken during the Munich Olympics including sports coverage, TV series, news broadcasts, films, advertisements and dog shows. It was a sort of photographic channel-hopping, a random sampling of our televisual memory, a pot pourri of captured electronic signals with shocking colours manipulated by moving the aerial around.
The exhibition is an immersive installation with 4 projection screens and an octophonic sound system using photos from the series TV Shots.
Sound: Louis Dandrel ; installed by Olivier Koechlin.
Organized in partnership with Orange and BETC, in collaboration with Magnum Photos.
