Since the late 1990s Maja Bajevic has presented a body of work of great artistic density, consisting mainly of films, photographs and performances.. This piece marks a new stage in her work, in which she moves away from personal issues to embrace broader subjects such as illegal immigration, identity problems or displaced populations, while retaining the pared-down style that has made her video work so successful. The installation presented here evokes psychological malaise and trauma.
