Topor rit encore (Topor is still laughing) Exhibition designed by Patrick Roegiers
Roland Topor always had fun with photography, playing with the medium and using it as an original means of creation. His antics in photo booths (Topor-matons), his sessions in a darkened studio where he drew patterns in the air with a flashlight, the amazing comic routine he did in Amsterdam wearing a bowler hat and smoking a cigar, his Ramollissements, his fashion photography, portraits of him taken by friends, and the last pictures taken three weeks before he died: all point to Topor's sense of fun.
His outstanding work as a many-facetted artist who lived a thousand lives now includes this movingly beautiful series of unexpected and astonishing photographs.
