Our building

Located in Hôtel Hénault, a 18th century mansion, the MEP takes an important part in the recognition of international photography. Since its opening in 1996, the MEP offers, through its different areas, different ways to learn more about photography and to question the stakes around it.

Building layout

The MEP is organized around five levels, from the basement to the 3rd floor. The MEP offers you several areas to discover photography : the Galleries, the Studio, the auditorium, the Ateliers, the library, the bookshop and the coffee shop.

The Galleries

On the 2nd and 3rd floors of the MEP, you can see the major exhibitions hosted by the museum in the Galleries.

Organized by season, the MEP’s program offers 3 different exhibitions per year, along with special exhibitions in the Studio.

The Studio

On the 1st floor, you can visit the Studio, a place dedicated to emerging artists from the contemporary scene. Each season, discover two monographic exhibitions composed of photographs and sometimes videos.

The auditorium

On level -1 of the MEP, you can take part in different activities in the auditorium : masterclasses, projections as well as encounters with artists.

The Ateliers

On the -1 level of the MEP, younger visitors can discover the photography medium in the Ateliers and the Petite Galerie. These areas are dedicated to creativity, imagination and curiosity.
