Zanele Muholi
The MEP is proud to present the first retrospective in France dedicated to Zanele Muholi, the internationally renowned South African photographer and activist whose work documents and celebrates the Black LGBTQIA+ community. This major event, which brings together more than 200 photographs and videos created since 2000s as well as numerous archival materials, covers the full breadth of Muholi’s career to date, honouring one of the most acclaimed artists working today.

Jay DeFeo & Maya Rochat
The MEP is pleased to welcome two major experimental artists : American artist Jay DeFeo, a member of the Beat Generation, known for her multidisciplinary practice that explores photography, sculpture, drawing, collage and painting ; and Swiss artist Maya Rochat whose work mixes photography, painting, video, installation and performance.

Viviane Sassen
Bringing together more than 200 works and retracing 30 years of creation, Viviane Sassen – Mirrors & Portals offers an immersion in the photographic work of Viviane Sassen, which mobilises intense colours, graphic games on light and shadow and surrealist aesthetics. The exhibition will bring together the artist’s iconic series – including “Umbra”, “Parasomnia”, “Flamboya” and “Roxanne” – and a selection of her fashion photographs, as well as her mixed media works combining photographic prints, paintings, collages and videos.
