Duncan – House of Love

House of Love, the first book by American photographer Shelby Duncan, documents a creative community in Hollywood, Los Angeles, between 2009 and 2015: an intimate narrative built from living archives, capturing a generation before the rise of social media and curated self-image.

Designed as a journal-like object blending photography, ephemera, and personal testimonies, the book traces the story of a place where more than 500 artists lived and created together, composing their collective memory in the process.

Photographed in the early 2010s, before smartphones became omnipresent, House of Love captures the energy and freedom of youth with a rare spontaneity.
