Roberts – Pierdom

Simon Roberts has exhibited widely with solo shows at: National Media Museum, Bradford; Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai. His work is in several major collections including George Eastman House, Rochester; Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago; Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City; Deutsche Börse Collection and Wilson Centre for Photography. His previous books include Motherland (Chris Boot, 2007) and We English (Chris Boot, 2009).
In 2010 Simon Roberts was selected by the UK Parliament as the official Election Artist to record the General Election.
In recognition for his work, Roberts has received several awards including the Vic Odden Award (2007) – offered for a notable achievement in the art of photography by a British photographer, along with bursaries from the National Media Museum (2007), John Kobal Foundation (2008) and grants from Arts Council England (2007, 2010, 2011). He was commissioned as the official Election Artist by the House of Commons Works of Art Committee to produce a record of the 2010 General Election on behalf of the UK Parliament. In 2012 he was granted access by the International Olympic Committee to photograph the London Olympics.
