Shastel – Youth

‘Youth’ is the first publication of evocative images from Israeli photographer, Alon Shastel. It is an intimate journey through a selection of his work from the past decade as he captures the raw spirit and soft sensuality of the youths he photographs. Shastel’s keen eye for light and composition pays homage to this coming-of-age period that is both challenging and exuberant, inspiring artists for generations. The photographer learned photography from the young age of ten, and learned to develop analog images in a dark room in the back of an old bus. He feels that he can establish a closer connection to his early memories of Israel through the medium of film.
