Known for her portraits of celebrities taken in intimate settings, both in Paris and Hollywood, Alice Springs captures with great delicacy, the character and charisma of her models. After a working relationship of over thirty years with the photographer, the MEP holds more than 190 prints by Springs in its collection. There are a large number of portraits, as well as more personal images, which include both self-portraits, and portraits of her husband Helmut Newton, at work and in their day-to-day lives.

“Alice Springs does more than capture the appearance of her famous and unknown contemporary models; she channels their charisma, their aura. Behind her exceptional portraits, you can feel some kind of implicit complicity, a spiritual bond.”
