Internationally famous for his fashion photography, characterized by incongruous and provocative staging, Helmut Newton revolutionized conventions surrounding images of women in magazines of the 1970s and 80s. For decades, the MEP had a collaborative relationship with both the photographer, and his wife June, (known as Alice Springs), resulting in the fact that today the MEP has 123 original prints in its collection, notably the major portfolio Private Property, offered by Alice Springs in 2013.
