An exhibition, a film, a seminar :
the photographs of Jean Baudrillard.

"Let us resist the noise of the world and of words through the silence of photography ; let us resist movement, flux and acceleration through the immobility of photography ; let us resist the flood of communication and information through the secret of photography ; let us resist the moral imperative of meaning through the silence of signification. Above all, let us resist the automatic flow of images, their perpetual succession, where what is lost is not only the features of the object, its poignant detail (the punctum), but also the moment of the photograph, a moment that passes immediately, that is irreversible, and that is thus always nostalgic. This instantaneity is the exact opposite of the simultaneity of real time. The flow of images produced in real time, and which vanish in real time, is indifferent to this third dimension : that of movement. Visual flux knows only change, and the image no longer even has time to become an image. For an image to be an image, it must first and foremost become an image, and this can only happen when the world's tumult has been suspended, and when things are stripped down to the bare minimum. Let us replace the triumphant Epiphany of meaning with the silent Apophany of the object and its appearances."
