"Everything but Manhattan"
"These photographs were taken in the Automn of 1996 during my first stay in New-York. I found Manhattan to be well in keeping with the pictures I had already seen of it. As I did not want to add new "clichés" to the thousands existing, I decided to set out to discover another New-York. Everything but Manhattan is a few pictures of quarters and places which have been kind of pushed outwards by the centrifugal force of a gyroscopic Manhattan which appears from time to time in the distance."
